Color Combos Galore
Guest Designer Week 4
This week’s Challenge palette was called ‘Good Day Sunshine’ and as soon as I saw it, I thought of one of my favourite photos from my daughter’s wedding.
Here’s the layout I created and I love how it turned out.
I used Photo #4 as my inspiration with a Focus on Design – Grids. My idea was to use grids of stenciled texture paste as a background for the photo which I then misted with Radiant Rains to highlight the texture. You can see this in the photo above and below.
To achieve this I stenciled texture paste with a number of different patterns (I’ve listed the stencils below) on 4″ squares of white cardstock and left them to dry. I then cut them into strips of differing widths and lengths and pieced them together to form the background of my page.
I also used the vase in Photo #2 as inspiration for my flowers (I know I’m clutching at straws here but what can I say – I love flowers on my layouts lol). These were all white and I coloured them with Radiant Rains – Sunshine with touches of Ginger Peach and Hunter Grey to add depth.
I then used Hunter Grey and Pewter to colour my title.
Products I Used:
JoSonja’s Texture Paste
Radiant Rains Mist – Pewter, Hunter Gray, Sunflower, Ginger Peach
Manor House Creations Flowers – White Vine
I Am Roses Flowers – Gardinia
The Crafter’ Workshop 6″x6″ Stencils – Chicken Wire Reverse, Flower Frenzy
Prima Stencils – Checker, Flower, Static, Lattice
Imaginarium Designs – ‘Getting Ready’ Chipboard
Thanks for dropping by to check it out.
