Guest Designer – Week 2
Welcome to Week 2 of my ‘Color Combos Galore’ Guest Designer spot.
This week’s colours are just gorgeous and remind me of gelato ice-cream.
and this was my layout . . .
My Inspiration Photo this week was #1 – Clustered Elements – and what clusters better than flowers I say
The cake also reminded me of celebrations, so I selected some photos of my niece’s 21st birthday – in one of the photos you can see her cutting the cake with her parents.
I started off with a white cardstock background which was inspired by Photo #4. I then layered and fussy cut some papers from the ‘Yes Please’ collection by American Crafts. I then used a chevron stencil from Twiddleybitz to match the fussy cut chevrons. Normally I spray and colour my flowers on my craft mat, but for this layout I sprayed them on the page. I then painted them with gesso using a dry brush technique to get the great watercolour effect. The gesso also highlights all the texture in the flowers and leaves as you can see below.
